Here are tips for Charlotte residents as we welcome warmer weather:

 *Exterior Maintenance:**

  • Clear gutters and check roof shingles.
  • Inspect foundation and walls for cracks.
  • Prepare flower beds and remove small trees.
  • Power wash sidewalks and check concrete/decks for damage.
  • Clear debris and wash AC fins.

*Interior & Safety:**

  • Test sump pump before heavy rain.
  • Replace batteries in smoke and CO detectors.
  • Change furnace filter and clean AC vents.
  • Check for faucet leaks.

*Iowa-Specific Tips:**

  • Aerate cool-season lawns in April.

Charlotte is located on State Hwy.136 

The City of Charlotte is a small, rural city in Eastern Iowa.  It is located in Clinton county, with the city of Clinton as the county seat. 


Charlotte was founded in 1853, when Albert Gilmore settled here to build a mill.  He named the town after his wife, Charlotte. It is a small town, with friendly people and a relaxed way of life.
